[KIM LOGAN] Thank you Kim for your interest and support of OPOAA. Your donations was greatly appreciated. I too did extensive family research with Ancestry years ago. When I started OPOAA in 2001 actually, Ancestry.com had no photographs on their site and decided to link to my one of a kind interactive site and idea, is the reason they now have photographs on their site. Nothing much I could do about it. I only found old photographs in the Library of Congress. Ancestry wants us to pay for our history..My site continues to be free site for the AA researcher. I have since removed my trees from Ancestry. They make money off our hard work and family trees. The DNA package is a joke. We have already laid the ground work for them to connect us.

I am very involved in the research and history of my black ancestors. I have extensive family trees on ancestry which I am always looking to add photographs to the names. I also do extensive posting and research on www.findagrave.com. I am a huge collector of everything Black Americana, including photographs. The history of Black America is very near and dear to my heart.

Always interested in photographs or information from the following areas: Rock Island, Illinois, Canton and Lyons, Missouri, Texas cities of Honey Grove, Ft. Worth, Paris, Brookston, and Houston. Black and mulatto surnames of Logan, Pleasant, Briggs, Wires, and Garrett.

Thank you so much for creating this site. I am so glad I stumbled across it! This is exactly what I was wishing for. I'm that family member who ends up with the old family pictures. I treasure them and long to identify the faces and share the images with others. I am excited to start uploading my old photos.
Thank you Rashawn for your contribution to OPOAA. It is greatly appreciated
