DuPont and wife Betsey lived in Montgomery Alabama in 1865.Whitfield DuPont was born in Montgomery Alabama in 1865 after the civil war ended. It appears the Foster-Fountain Clan was well acquainted with the DuPont Clan.Sara Mercedes Foster married the son of Whitfield Dupont John DuPont and information from a cousin James Osborn Bryson states (his mother) Claudia Foster went with her baby sister to Pensacola to teach school in the unequal and segregrated school system of Escambia County Florida. My quest is for information regarding Augustus I. I am having a hard time finding relatives; since most of the AA funeral homes are no longer in existence or did not keep records. Another frustrating endeavor. I am interested in the ones in Kentucky and California.
