These pictures were taken in 1936 or 1937 and represent African American Army soldiers stationed at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. Fort Huachuca was one of the few army bases where African Americans were trained when the U.S. Army was still segregated.
These individuals would now be at least 96 years or older if still alive. Some names were written on a few of the pictures.
